I adore this analysis. You put everything into words so much better than I could have, and the comparison to A Wrinkle in Time completely wrecked my brain (in a good way)! I’m tempted to write my own post on Regional At Best (my favorite album of theirs) now!!
Hm... Potentially Car Radio. I think that one is the most emblematic of what I like about the rest of their music, the gradual build is fun, and the story is relatable (except my poor Ford Taurus's radio was breaking).
Fun to see this album revisited, and I think you did a pretty good job of describing the character of the album. The transitions in Ode to Sleep were what really got me to like the band. And House of Gold is just a very sweet song.
Clearly I need to listen to some Twenty One Pilots!
Especially because you compared it to A Wrinkle In Time (now there's some childhood nostalgia right there!)
car radio is an absolute banger. I just discovered Twenty One Pilots this year---so good.
definitely sharing this with friends
Aww thank you!
I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE ANALYZE TØP MUSIC

Ughhh you totally should! Regional at Best is so good!
I probably will! It's been a huge inspiration in my own songwriting so I have a few ideas :D

I like that one! It took me a while to get into it though, probably because it makes me feel sadder than almost any other TOP song….
I was in my late teen sad boi phase when I first heard it, so it was a natural fit. 😂

Thank you! What’s your favorite track?
